  1. You dont have to drive anywhere to get the best out of staying at the house - its 100 metres downhill to Tamarama beach. The Tamarama cafe is a great place to grab a coffee with friends and family after an early morning dip. Kids will love fossicking about on the large rock platform next to the beach.

  2. Its a tenminute walk along the iconic Bondi to Bronte coast walk to the equally iconic and very social Bronte Pool you cant take a bad picture here - and the always buzzing cafe strip. Order some fish and chips in the late afternoon and have a picnic on the grass just above the beach. Drift home to have a late supper on the main deck watching the light fade on the ocean.

  3. Its also a tenminute walk the other way to Bondi beach and all that it has to offer. Have breakfast at Bills in Hall Street and a cocktail or two at Icebergs on top of the world famous Icebergs pool. Learn to surf or brush up on skills at Lets Go Surfing or just hang out at Speedos cafe next to Lets Go at North Bondi. Meet friends at the Bucket List right in the middle of the Esplanade. At sunrise the coastal cliffs turn bright pink it makes waking up early much more rewarding and you dont even have to get out bed to watch it all unfold.

Home Truths:

  • Like anywhere near the beach in Sydney, Tamarama gets busy on weekends and public holidays in summer and visitor parking can be tricky. However, its always possible to mind a spot for visitors on the street. Encourage friends to catch a cab, Uber or carpool if they are visiting on a busy day.

  • Fortunately the house has two off street parking places accessible via a private drive. The private drive is shared with another house and cant be used for visitor parking. The drive is narrow and requires some driving skill to navigate up and down. However, with a some patience, tips and a few practices you will soon master it.

  • Again being right next to the ocean the house is in close proximity to other houses and the owners have very good relations with all neighbours around the house. There is an unwritten rule to cease noisy outside activities after 11pm and to close or nearly close doors onto the decks so as to keep the noise down.

  • Tamarama beach, while beautiful, is not a good beach for beginner surfers or less confident swimmers. If you are keen to lean to surf we would recommend enrolling at Lets Go Surfing at Bondi Beach. All the beaches in the area are patrolled by Life Guards think Bondi Rescue - but remember you must only swim between the flags. No flags up dont swim. If you have small children the Bogey Hole at Bronte beach is the ideal place to introduce them to swimming in the ocean.
